Harlow Carr

Cornus alba 'Sibirica Variegata'

Review Notes: This variety works hard for its place in the garden. From spring to autumn, it has beautiful variegated foliage which makes a great background to set off other plants in the border. This turns stunning shades of red before it falls to reveal the bright red stems which adds colour to the winter garden. Tolerant of a wide range of soils, it produces the brightest winter bark when planted in full sun. To keep the size of the plant in check and to encourage the most colourful bark, remove a third of the stems back to ground level each spring.

It likes full sun, and soil to be well-drained/light, Clay/heavy, Chalky/alkaline.
Height: 300cm, Spread: 300cm.
Cuttings can be taken November to February.
