Cotinus 'Flame'

Review Notes: This is a large deciduous shrub, with rounded leaves turning bright orange and red in autumn, and large feathery pink panicles. The common name for this small tree is the Smoke Bush because it produces long panicles containing hundreds of tiny flowers during the summer. From a distance these look like clouds of smoke emerging from the tree. Plant in well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. Soil types are, Chalky, Clay, Loamy, Sandy (will tolerate most soil types).

Height: 6m, Spread: 4m (10-20 years to full maturity)

The Royal Horticultural Society have given it their prestigious Award of Garden Merit.
